Alta Baixa is a magazine of typographic culture developed in the academic field. It aims to reflect on all aspects of typography, including its history, and its contents are deliberately eclectic. The name Alta Baixa also refers to the Alta and Baixa areas of the city of Coimbra, Portugal. Alta Baixa magazine nº1 features the article Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Typeface by Michael Bierut.
Project Goals
Explore the structures of organization and presentation of content, develop in-depth knowledge about the possibilities of font usage as well as composition, and convey the conviction that design options should be in line with the content.
